Tim Shechmeister sold his UCLA Film School thesis film "VIRAL" to Sony/Screen Gems in 2012, and was hired to adapt it into a feature as both director and co-writer. The feature length version of VIRAL was released in 2017 as CAN'T TAKE IT BACK, starring Noah Centineo (CHARLIE'S ANGELS, THE FOSTERS) Ana Coto (OUIJA) Lexi Atkins (THE BOY NEXT DOOR) Jill Larsen (SHUTTER ISLAND, VINYL) and social media stars Logan Paul and Meredith Foster. The film was acquired for exclusive distribution by horror streaming service Shudder. He and his brother Matt have also co-written horror features for independent horror production companies, including a pilot for a virtual reality horror experience.
